In addition to the auto-discovery of device via entering the IP address range, IT teams can import devices via Excel Spreadsheet.

This is especially useful for IT teams with a large number of devices and already have a pre-determined grouping of devices.

Steps:

a. At the NetGain EM v7 dashboard, click on Monitor -> Discover ->Device Import
b. To download the sample excel file, click on Import -> Sample File
c. Open the file in Excel. Enter the devices, IP addresses, groupings and descriptions as stated in the Sample Excel File.
d. To upload the file, return to the NetGain EM v7 dashboard, click on Monitor -> Discover -> Device Import _>  Choose File. Select the file and click “Import Excel file”

This new feature also allows IT teams to update all entries or just new entries into NetGain EM v7.

B. Automated Mapping of Syslog/SNMPTraps Alerts into Devices

This new feature allows for the automated mapping of Syslogs/SNMPTraps alerts into devices, via the IP address.

If the devices are not previously discovered, upon receiving the Syslogs/SNMPTraps alerts, NetGain EM v7 will automatic create the devices and list the alerts under the respective devices.

This will also allow for Syslog/SNMPTraps alerts to be dropped as pins in the various Maps views.

C. Role Based Service Level Agreement (SLA) Segregation

This feature allows for administrators to provide for Role Based (SLA) Segregation based on selected Device Group and/or Devices and/or Monitors and/or BizView.

As such, the assigned roles can now provide SLAs based on their selected devices to ensure more efficient and effective delivery of performance reporting to their respective heads or customers.
